The powerful Mantis style (Kung Fu)





Praying Mantis is one of the most popular styles of traditional wushu. In Chinese, this style is called Tang Lang Quan (Tang Lang = 螳螂 = Mantis) and (= 拳 Quan = fist). There are several styles of northern and southern mantis. Among the most famous are the Seven Star Praying Mantis Praying Mantis and Plum Blossom. Most forms of the praying mantis who are today are modern forms. The praying mantis is always a traditional wushu style, but modern forms, which are made for competitions and shows (eg The Shaolin Shows). 

The difference between modern and traditional methods is that modern forms contain mássaltos acrobatic. Athletes focus more on speed, acrobatics and how their movements are, instead of focusing on the applications of movements. That's why a lot of young athletes do not know the applications of the techniques they do. Find someone who really knows and understands all the traditional techniques is very difficult, even if you are training in China.
Description of Style
